Our Mission & Values
The Rover & Ranger Unit is dedicated to fostering the holistic development of young adults, transforming them into self-reliant, responsible, and compassionate citizens. Our mission is rooted in the core principles of the Scout and Guide movement: Duty to God, Duty to Others, and Duty to Self. We strive to instill leadership, discipline, integrity, and a lifelong spirit of selfless service to the community and the nation.
What is Rovers & Rangers?
Rovers (boys) and Rangers (girls) are the senior youth section of Bharat Scouts & Guides, serving ages 15–25. The program contributes to young people’s development to help them reach their full physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual potential as responsible citizens.
Stages in the Journey
- Aspirant: The initial stage of preparation (minimum 3 months) before the Pravesh test.
- Rover / Ranger: After the investiture ceremony, members become a full part of the unit.
- Rover/Ranger-in-Service: Advanced roles for experienced members who mentor others and lead service projects.
Advancement & Awards
The advancement structure includes key milestones like Pravesh, Nipun, Rajya Puraskar, and the prestigious Rashtrapati Rover/Ranger Award, earned through service and skill development.

Uniform & Identity
The uniform (steel-grey shirt, navy trousers, scarf, badges, etc.) represents discipline, unity, and pride in the movement. It is a symbol of our commitment to the Scout/Guide Promise and Law.
